Why Spay & Neuter Is an Important Preventive Step
Spaying or neutering your pet is a common procedure that supports long-term health and well-being.
This care may:
- Lower the risk of certain cancers, such as mammary or testicular cancer
- Reduce behaviors like roaming, marking, or mounting
- Decrease the chance of infections in the reproductive system
- Help manage pet overpopulation in Fort Collins and nearby areas
Even indoor pets can benefit. This procedure is one way to support your pet’s comfort and overall health as they grow.
When Is the Right Time?
The best timing can vary based on your pet’s breed, size, and lifestyle.
Most cats are spayed or neutered around 4–6 months
Many dogs are treated between 6–12 months
Some breeds may benefit from waiting a bit longer
Our team at Front Range Veterinary Clinic will help you decide on timing that fits your pet’s individual needs and health.
